about

This album came about as the result of the acquisition of a lot of new software tools, experimentation, and the concept of facing the dark shadows within ourselves. It is a journey of integration between the light and the dark within the individual.

This is ambient, dark ambient, electronic, experimental, and some of it is even avante garde.

Software tools used:

A variety of Reason 12 Rack Extensions in Ableton Live 11, and BitWig Studio 4, Cakewalk Z3TA+ 2, Wavesequencer Hyperion, Arturia Pigments, Vital, Synapse Audio Dune 3, Xfer's Serum, Tone 2's Icarus, UVI Falcon, and Ableton's interior 2-oscillator wavetable synth. Waldorf Largo was used and effected by Output's Portal. N.I. Absynth, and Dawesome's Abyss were used as well.

From Image-Line: Sakura, Toxic Biohazard, Morphine, and Sytrus VSTis were used.

An excellent freeware VSTi Surge Synth Team’s Surge XT was also used in this album.

Reverb Efx include Dragonfly and Valhalla Supermassive.

VSTis used in BitWig studio were also Abyss, Largo, Absynth, Icarus, Reason Rack Extensions, Surge Synth Team's Surge XT, as well as Falcon.

iOS app used: Spacefield Space Ambient machine streamed to the hardware recorder.

Hardware used:

MIDI controller and synth workstation captured to hardware recorder: Korg Kronos 2 88.

Roland GR-55 guitar synth with Fender Stratocaster equipped with GK-3 pickup, and Roland SP-404 SX Linear Wave Sampler to port sound to the hardware recorder, and also for the FX modules.

Recording to DAW: MSI GE 75 Raider gaming laptopwith 16 GB ram and solid state drive.
Hardware Recording unit: TASCAM DP-24 SD,
Post processing done on custom built PC with Asus TUF gaming mainboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 8-core processor with 128 GB of crucial ballistix ram and solid state drive. Post-processing done in Adobe Audition 2020.

3 of the tracks are submissions to other compilations- two to AmbientOnline.org Ambient Compilation #17, and one to Naviar Record Company's 'Poetry In Sounds #2' contest.

Images for the album cover were generated in iOS' Patternica and further processed in Adobe Photoshop.
